NTR: OMG---My toenail tore off!!!!

I'm having such a freaking sucky week---I swear.  So last night I was moving the box with DS's new trike in it and it skidded across my foot--figured I just stubbed my toe--but NO.....3/4 of the big toenail came off--or rather is dangling---it's like 3/4 of the way down the bed of the nail and 3/4 across so not completely off--which is almost worse b/c if it were off I could start the healing process--but I've got a bandaid around it now to keep it from getting caught on something and totally torn off.  I'm hoping in another month or so it'll be grown out enough that it'll come off on it's own.  OMG----I can't believe I did that!   It's going to look SO gross---3/4 of my nail GONE! 

And the ONE thing....One freaking thing that I've been looking forward to was getting a pedi before our cruise in a couple of weeks.  I never treat myself to those.  But there's no way I'd invite germs in to that--I've had enough toe issues.   I'm so bummed!!!!!  It burns and hurts so badly and it's been almost 24 hrs.  I have NO clue what to do about this and no doctors are around this weekend.

Antibiotic ointment you think??

    think large heavy(100lb) jack popping off a toenail--omg-same pain,   Let it heal over then just file it smooth(just to keep it from catching on things) when not at tender and paint it.  Neosporin(sp)  or similar would be fine.

    eek. I'm sorry that really doesn't sound good!  I'd probably put some on it. other than that, what can ya do? ya know?

    Neosporin 3-4 times a day. Keep it dry and change bandage frequently! Try gauze and tape instead of sticky bandaids too. Feel better!! Hope it isn't hurting for your cruise!!
