Welcome, ladies, to the Expecting a Sibling Weekly Check-In! I will try to post this check-in each Friday around 10:00am-12p EST, so be looking for it! I'll also try to repost this around Saturday-Sunday so that others can add to our thread. If you'd like you can also put the date of your next checkup or u/s and I'll add next to your name so that we can send good thoughts your way on that particular day.
Below is the list of ladies who have joined us, 53 so far! If you would like to be added to our list, please leave your Bump Name, your real name (if you choose to share), and what number child this will add to your family. Newbies are always welcome, as well as proud step parents & those adopting!
For those who are newbies please read the post New to January Moms or The Bump? (thank you to mchupie!). It will help answer so many questions, and you can also grab the January Joy button code from that post. There is also a bump glossary located here. And an unofficial glossary located here. The unofficial glossary contains a lot more bump lingo.
Update on our ladies: T&P's for bensbabe whom miscarried at 8w2d, babes12 whom discovered there was no baby at her u/s, and mbs427 whom miscarried baby #2 on 5.27. We hope to see you all back on the baby boards soon!
If you plan on staying team green/yellow/red etc.(because we all know there is more than one neutral color), let us know so we can mark you as such.
If you have any other thoughts/ideas/questions on our check-in please feel free to PM me!
General QOTD: Anything new with this pregnancy that you haven't had before?
QOTD: What changes are you preparing for in routine or financially for this baby?
General QOTD: Anything new with this pregnancy that you haven't had before? - Um, yeah the spotting. I had some with DS but it was for a reason, this spotting has no reason behind it, so annoying.
QOTD: What changes are you preparing for in routine or financially for this baby? - Just saving up the $$ for the midwife fee and we'll probably work with DS to be a little more independent, and transition him to daddy more, for the 3 months before his sibling arrives.
General QOTD: Anything new with this pregnancy that you haven't had before? Just the anxiety!! I am so nervous, but trying to remain positive!
QOTD: What changes are you preparing for in routine or financially for this baby? I put aside an envelope to save for extra money and have been throwing a $20 in there every few days. We also need to work on DD's big girl room, but it needs A LOT of work. I am hoping once we tell our parents they will help us out - the floors need to be ripped up, window needs to be replaced, one wall has to be replaced, and then painted. I'd also like to put in a ceiling fan.

Anything new with this pregnancy that you haven't had before? This pregnancy is pretty identical to my first. Slightly tender
breasts, fatigue, and a touch of nausea. The first time around I never
wanted to eat Mexican. This time around even mentioning Mexican food
(and a few other things) makes me want to vomit.
What changes are you preparing for in routine or financially for this baby? Not many changes financially for us. I SAH, so we won't have to pay more for daycare. I plan to use more cloth diapers this time, so we might actually spend less with this LO.
General QOTD: Anything new with this pregnancy that you haven't had before? I don't remember m/s being this bad the last time but it could just be my memory. It's not horrible but definately there now.
QOTD: What changes are you preparing for in routine or financially for this baby? Nothing yet. We just moved and DH thinks the 3rd BD is his for a computer room. I keep telling him he has at the max 6mo in there before we begin work on the nursery. We'll also transition DD into a big girl bed, etc.
BFP 2/14/08, DD1 born 10/11/08 (natural); BFP 5/16/10, DD2 born 01/12/11 (c/s, breech)

BFP 9/25/12 EDD 6/6/13, Shooting 3-for-3 from the line: It's a Girl
PgAL/PAL Welcome
General QOTD: Anything new with this pregnancy that you haven't had before? So far this pregnancy is very similar to my first.
QOTD: What changes are you preparing for in routine or financially for this baby? Not planning any financial changes. I don't pay for childcare, and this baby won't have the all the "start-up costs" the last baby had! I'm sure there will be plenty of routine changes though.
General QOTD: Anything new with this pregnancy that you haven't had before? headaches!! with J i never had them but i have been getting pretty bad ones lately. the nurse at the ob's told me it was the surge of hormones.
QOTD: What changes are you preparing for in routine or financially for this baby? i cant even think about it yet!! we have to change the guest room to J's room and keep his room the nursery. i'm dreading that.

General QOTD: The nausea is definitely worse this time.
QOTD: We may or may not be moving to a larger apartment so there would be some cost involved in that, obviously. We won't have to pay for childcare for the new baby for at least 6 months so that will be nice.
Good morning, can you please add me to the list? SaraLynn21, expecting baby #2 January 18th. We are team GREEN! My ultrasound is on Wed. the 2nd. Thanks!

General QOTD: Anything new with this pregnancy that you haven't had before? - With my first pregnancy I had m/s right away. So far with this one I've been feeling really good, which freaks me out! I keep thinking one of these days I will be hugging the toilet!
QOTD: What changes are you preparing for in routine or financially for this baby? We just purchased a mini-van and I'm actually excited, which confirms I am a Mom :-) I am also a VBAC hopeful for this baby, we'll see how that shakes out!

Hi I am news so would you mind adding me that would be great:
Nickey22897 - Nichole - DC #2 - EDD so far is 1/17/11 based on the computer charts, Dr has not dated me yet.
General QOTD: Anything new with this pregnancy that you haven't had before? Night sweats, no appetite, swollen/bloated sooner, queasy but so far no m/s (which I did not have with first)
QOTD: What changes are you preparing for in routine or financially for this baby? Need to gut/redo the spare room for my DD (4yrs old) into a big girl room then repaint her room & convert toddler bed back into crib for baby - so that is our finacial issue at this time. Hopefully my DH settlement will come in time.
General QOTD: Anything new with this pregnancy that you haven't had before? I am already getting insomnia and trouble sleeping. I don't think that happened until much later when I was pg with DD. Not sleeping well at night and the fatigue that comes along with being pg means that by the time I get home from work I am exhausted!
QOTD: What changes are you preparing for in routine or financially for this baby? Well, having to pay daycare costs for two is going to be quite an adjustment. And now that my dr thinks it's a possibility that I'm gonna have twins, I am really freaked out about possible daycare costs - yikes!

General QOTD: Anything new with this pregnancy that you haven't had before? I don't feel pregnant. At all. I know I should be enjoying it, but it's scary! No more nausea, and I'm not nearly as exhausted as I was when I was pg with DS. Besides lactose intolerance (which I've only gotten the 2 times I was pregnant) and low blood pressure, I have no other symptoms of being pg. I'm definitely ready for 1st tri to be over so I can stop worrying about that.
QOTD: What changes are you preparing for in routine or financially for this baby? This delivery is going to cost us about $5,000 since we lost my good insurance when I left my job on maternity leave to work PT and be home with DS. DH's insurance sucks, so he's probably going to get a temporary PT job solely so we can save that money for delivery. $5k would be a decent sized hit to our savings account otherwise.
general qotd: i am feeling much more nauseous this time around. i'm only 4 wks 5 days and i've been feeling sick since my bfp. makes me nervous what's going to happen when real m/s sets in next weekend, as last time i never got sick, just nauseous but not till 6 wks.
qotd: nothing so far, but i'm sure that will change as we get further along.
General QOTD: Anything new with this pregnancy that you haven't had before? I guess sinec having a 6 month old is tiring as it is, I'm just way more tired than I was with her because now I have the first tri being tired and having to take care of a six month old, also I haven't thrown up yet, but I'm feeling sick alllllll the time where with Emma I was just feelign sick when i was hungry
QOTD: What changes are you preparing for in routine or financially for this baby? Routine - Idk yet, its hard to think about cause I'll have a 13 month old and a newborn I think we'll just have to swing it and get into our own thing once the baby get heres. But Im hoping Emma will be sleeping through the night by then! Please by the end of this month! FH just got a job, so we'll be saving up a lot more money thankfully and moving into a bigger place where Emma will have her own room and this baby will share with us until it is about 6 months like Emma has

Nope. Same old. Same old
QOTD: What changes are you preparing for in routine or financially for this baby?
Nothing for right now. Addie will be about 18 months when #2 arrives and Stosh is already very independent so I'm winging it; as always
