Last night LO kept fighting the swaddle non stop. heis 7 weeks old. he would not sleep and keep wriggling and crying. I took off the swaddle but he wouldnt sleep then.
My LO only sleeps when swaddles, 7 1/2 weeks now. We use a halo swaddle blanket sleeper, the velcro is a little tighter so he can't fight out of it. We put it on and he is instantly calmer and settles down for the night. Other swaddles he wiggled his way out of. GL
My LO started fighting the swaddle right at 7 weeks as well. I bought every swaddle on the market - literally. The woombie, the Miracle Blanket, you name it. But we ended up sticking with the Swaddle Me. I do like the Halo Swaddle Sack but they only sell the swaddle version in the newborn size and it would be too small for DD.
We also tried putting DD on her stomach, on her side, on a wedge and nothing worked! And she won't sleep flat on her back w/o the swaddle.
SO....she fights it still but we are able to rock her to sleep and she's been doing fine again...BUT we are eventually going to have to off her the swaddle...which I am not looking forward to.
DD is much happier if I don't swaddle her arms. Have you tried that?
This. In fact, Belhurst, you are the one who gave me the idea (one time you mentioned it in another post) of letting her have her arms free and since I've started doing that she's MUCH happier.

My LO also started fighting the swaddle around that time. I had to get her to sleep first, usually by feeding her, and then get her in it, and then usually she'd kinda wake up and I'd have to feed her back to sleep again.
I tried all the different kinds of swaddles and none of them worked any
better than others. It was just a phase she was going through that we
had to work through. GL!
That lasted for a few weeks and then she magically went back to enjoying the swaddle, and she still loves it now.
i had an episode like this and DS kept wiggling out of 2 of his halo swaddle and kiddapotamus swaddle as well as his swaddle designs blanket. At that point i figured he had grown out of swaddling and i took his angel wings off of his halo. he likes to be in a sleep sack alone now.
