question for cerclage moms

Is it normal to experience braxton hicks contractions even when you have a cerclage. Every once in a while (probably 3 x a day) If i have my hands on my belly I notice it is a little bit harder then normal. I thought it was just the baby bunched up in a ball but then realized in might be a contraction. They are not frequent and I don't feel anything unless my hands are there. Is this normal. Should I just tell my doc at my next appointment or should I call? TIA.

Re: question for cerclage moms

  • Its absolutely normal. The cerclage has nothing to do with your uterus. Its support for your cervix... YOu will still have BH contractions and most likely still have normal labor unless MD does not want to vaginally deliver you. I have IC and PTL so I have lots of contractions that are being controlled with medications and rest. But BH is normal... Its your uterus practicing for later ;)
