We just told my parents this weekend! It was fantastic. Besides that, my dh and I are debating who else to tell and how long to wait. What have you and your dh decided to do?[Poll]

We haven't told our parents, we are waiting for the 1st u/s, but I told two close friends (who are also my co-workers). We share an office at work and there is no way I could be in such close proximity to them all day every day and not tell!!!

SS - we've only told our two best friends, who were trying to get pregnant for 3 years (she's now 22 weeks Smile

i voted special snowflake. We've told my mom, DH's brother, my boss, and a few close friends. And an annoying-as-crap coworker who USED to be a close friend.

I'll tell the rest of my family after our ultrasound at 11-13 wks. We'll tell DH's mom at - uh - some point. I'm in no rush. I don't get along with her super well. She LOVES me, I'm not so wild about her.

I haven't told anyone! DH told 3 friends at work which was ok with me because I don't know them. We arent telling anyone until next weekend. I want to wait longer but I don't think DH has it in him.

We actually haven't told ANY of our family, but several close friends and a couple co-workers. None of our fam live close by, so they won't accidently find out. DH wants to wait until our appt. to tell our family, but I suck at secrets, so it'll be hard this weekend when I'm home.

The only people that know are my close friend and the girl I work out with b/c she needed to know that I couldn't do certain things. We've had our first appt and ultrasound so we might tell our parents and siblings this weekend if not next. Everyone else won't know until after our 2nd appt and 2nd ultrasound

We were going to wait, but when she was in the ER getting diagnosed with cancer, we decided my mom needed some good news, so we told my family and DH's family-just parents, grandparents and siblings.

Once it was out, I wanted to make sure our best friends heard it from us and not through a rumor or FB outing, so we told one of DH's best friends and his wife who is my close friend, and I told my 3 other closest girlfriends. The rest will wait until we hear the heartbeat, possibly 2nd tri.

We've told our parents so most of our families know, friends, and DH's boss.

DH still has to tell his dad and stepmom (who we rarely speak to). Then after our next ultrasound in 2 weeks, I'll probably post on FB for less close coworkers/classmates, etc.

Some of my closest friends knew right away because I haven't been quiet about all of our IF problems. They knew when we had our IUI and were watching the calendar. Then when I didn't drink at a dinner....it was all over! I've told my sister and we told my stepdaughters (they figured it out anyways). But I'm not sure when we're telling otehr family and the rest of the world. I think we'll have to talk about it tonight since I won't be drinking at the Indy 500 or any of our Memorial Day functions. I think it's been notice already by the in-laws!

I'm a special snowflake. I've only told DH, one friend, a nurse, and my dental hygienist. Waiting until after my first real doctor's visit June 11 to tell our parents/immediate family. I'll be 9 weeks. By then, we might just start gradually telling everyone because our family can't keep their mouths shut.

We know our parents will be soooo excited, we don't want to tell them after the 1st appointment though. I told two of my friends though--I need to be able to talk to someone!!!

I've only told a co-worker and the pharmacist at work. I'm an ICU nurse, so I had to make sure I could handle a drug and then a week later I got assigned a patient I couldn't take care of (shingles/herpes zoster patient). They both assured me they would keep it quiet, but we'll see how much longer I can keep it a secret at work.

DH and I aren't telling any family or friends until after the 1st US and NT scan results are back.

Nobody. This is baby number three so I'm not in a huge hurry to share. We shared really early with Annalise. After the first trimester with Ian. This one who knows?! Maybe at 36 weeks or so hahaha (just kidding of course)

Just realized I lied. I told my June 05 birth board. But no one I see on a day to day basis.

The first people we'll tell is my parents on father's day. By then we'll hopefully have had a successful 1st appointment/ultrasound. I'll be about 11 weeks by then. Everyone else after 13 weeks.

only my mom and DH's mom. And any friends that read my blog know, but those are like my super besties.

I want to tell my dad, but his wife is a blabber mouth and told everyone about our last pregnancy while I was miscarrying so for months I had people calling me to see how I was feeling. This time I am not telling him/her until we know the baby is healthy and we've already told everyone else.

I voted special snowflake. We've told MIL (she's a fertility nurse and we told her immediately after BFP), and I've also told a close friend who just had a baby and another close co-worker. Three cousins guessed after attending a baby shower but promised not to tell the rest of the family. Two other (luckily very trustworthy) co-workers guessed and I also had to tell my boss (and my dentist). DH has told a couple of other friends who won't spread it around. Dang - I feel like I've told a lot of people....but they're all people who I wouldn't mind discussing anything with....

I have no idea when I'm going to tell my mom though - I don't get along with her very well (or at all) and she'll spread it around like she's the one whose pregnant and she'll be all up in my sh*t and I just can't have that right now....weird - I told my boss before my mother....

For the most part, we've only told immediate family... but I've also told two people at work - my boss & our AP coordinator - because of my projected teaching load for next year. I needed to let them know, so they would understand why I was so upset about the projected schedule and I could perhaps get it changed (and I did). If all goes well at our u/s next Thursday, we may tell a few friend/co-workers on Friday afternoon - our last day of school before summer break.

Yeah, DH didn't get the concept of not telling people and was very unwilling to wait, so everyone knows.

I was going to not tell my co-workers until I started crying b/c the stories they were telling about their kids was just too cute and sweet. I work with a bunch of guys and didn't want them to think I was completely crazy crying like that.
