c-section moms - gas pains

I had a c-section 11 days ago and for the past few days I have been having what I think are horrible gas pains. I can't seem to really pass any either (I was doing it fine in the hospital). It also hurts when I pee. Anyone else experience this? What did you do for it? Thanks

    I don't have the gas pains, but peeing was uncomfortable for a few days. I'm 14 days pp. In the beginning I was unable to pass gas, but no problem now! Stick out tongue

    Failure to pass gas can be sign of a blockage. What signs did your doctor tell you to look for that warrant a call?

    she didn't really. I am able to pass stool though - could I still have a blockage?

    I would assume no, but I am definitely not worthy of making that determination. But it makes sense to me that if stool can pass there isn't a blockage. Maybe you're not feeling gas pains but just cramps? You did just have major abdominal surgery.

    If you're concerned I would call just for the peace of mind.

    I had this issue about 3 weeks pp...I was able to move my bowels almost daily though which I thought was weird.  Well, within a week, I ended up passing a significant sized clot.  I felt 100% better almost immediately.

    Gas-X or mylicon is really helpful for the gas pains.  I'd call the doc about the peeing pain--that might be a UTI.

    I had both of those problems but they went away after 4 days. I would call your doctor to be on the safe side. 

    DD#1 is 3! And LO#2 is on his/her way! Due Feb 26th, 2014.

     

    BFP#1: EDD 5/7/2010 born on 5/20/2010. A little girl named Emily.  

    BFP#2: m/c 10/29/2012 EDD was 6/21/2012 Baby Hope was 6 weeks 3 days. 

    BFP#3: Twin B stopped growing at 8 weeks and 5 days. Found on 8/10/2014. EDD was 2/26/2014. Twin A is still doing great and due date is 2/26/14.

    I had my c-section 8 days ago, and am not having the gas issue, but I went to the dr yesturday for my painful peeing. Turns out I got a UTI from the catheter. She gave me meds for that that are safe for breastfeeding

    Gas-X.  Agree with PPs about the UTI.  Call the OB.
