What is up with the Matt Damon tribute on ABC?

I'm just confused.  I like Matt Damon as much as the next woman, but why does he get a whole hour long tribute show?  Is this a new thing for young actors instead of old ones to get people to watch them?  It's just really odd.

    A quick google search reveals that it's not even new!  It's a rerun that was originally shown in March.  I guess it got better ratings than whatever else they had lying around at ABC.  Odd odd odd.
