Hey ladies ... okay ... so kinda weird but I've recently started triple stuffing 3.0s at night ... perhaps my dd is too young not to change her ... (let me know what ya'll think) but it works great ... I use the mf insert, the newborn insert and last but not least, a hemp insert at the bottom. Again, works wonders ...
She still wakes up 3 tx at night
but I hate changing her because it tends to wake her up whereas if I don't change her, she eats and goes immediately back to sleep.
The issue (about time) = well, when I triple stuff ... I've noticed that there is this space that's created between the matress and her back because of how thick the diaper is ... it creates this very small arch in her back, I would think ... I'm wondering whether this happens to your babes too and do you think that's bad for her back? ![]()
Re: Strange question re: "triple stuffing" 3.0s at night ...
I can't imagine that it would... in a few months she'll be so much bigger, that gap will probably be gone. I remember when ds started wearing his 3.0s at night and they were almost as big as he was!
Now he sleeps on his stomach much more and his huge dipe pushes his bum up in the air. I don't think it's doing any damage, though.
Maybe you could try using slimmer inserts? More hemp w/ the newborn mf insert? I use the big mf insert and two hemp inserts (one that is really long that I fold, one small "doubler" style insert). The mf is what makes it so poofy.
She does ... its kinda weird ... if I don't triple stuff, she end up wet
Thanks!
You could also try a Super-Do insert. They are pretty thick, but not as thick as all the things you are using. My 15 month old *might* be able to fill the medium size one overnight in 12 hours. We don't use those for night time, but they are some serious inserts.
Another thing, if you want to try, is using less filler and just changing her during one of her night time feeds. Changing would wake Harris up at that age, too, but we developed a routine that worked for us. I would nurse him on one side first, then DH would change his diaper, then I would finish nursing him on the other side to get him drowsy again. It worked wonderfully.
I asked our craniosacral therapist about this when we started CDing because I thought our PFs + covers were bulky... :-)
She said that the diaper would have to be really, really big in order for it to cause problems, and as long as LO doesn't appear uncomfortable (aka, fussing) that it's okay. I guess if you're concerned about it you could try slimmer inserts... But I think you're okay!
