OK, my tatas have exploded...

I don't know what else to title this thread. LOL

My milk came in today, and my boobs are just...huge. I was a nice full C pre-pregnancy, and now my DD bra is uncomfortable today.

Do I REALLY need bigger?! And does anyone recommend a good bra? I am not a big person, I just am, ahmmm... well endowed. All the DD + bras look like they're made for really large women. Which  I am not. I have a normal/average frame, and my boobs are not saggy at all. They are pretty rounded, and just full. I don't want a ugly bra with 5 inch thick straps, or 10 billion  buckles in the back...... But I need a bra that can cover me enough, and support my breast right now while they are a bit sore/achy from my milk coming in. And I can't barely find a DD in stores.. Walmart has one, which I use now, but like I said I think its too small!!

Can anyone help/recommend something? Or sympathize..? LOL

  • I'd try victoria secret for a regular bra. Its the only place I can find 34DD that are still cute.

For nursing bras tho, I LOOOOOVED Target's.

  • I went from a B cup to a D cup in the last week so I feel you! I have bought the Bravado brand nursing bras and the Medela brand sleeping bras. Unfortunately I haven't found any "cutsie" nursing bras. At his point I don't care if they are cute anymore. I just want to be comfortable so I deal with the ugliness.
  • I feel your pain!  I was a DD pre-pregnancy and I'm not a bigger girl-athletic frame, etc. I just have giant ta-tas.  Unfortunately, the best bras and the ones that offer the most support are not going to be the prettiest-but they are going to be the most comfortable for you and, like I said, offer the most support.  I would say go to motherhood maternity and pick up some nursing bras there.  I've gotten mine from there and they're pretty comfortable.  Or try the department stores-I get my 'normal' bras from there

    Good luck :)

  • Your breasts will not be the same size in a few days.  I wouldn't buy anything based on your engorgement size (when your milk first comes in, you are alot fuller, and then they'll suddenly seem to shrink a ton).  As you continue nursing and as your body adjusts to how much milk it needs for your LO, your breasts will get closer to your regular size.  I'm maybe one size up from regular right now.  Oh, and Target has DDs but they are hard to find in anything smaller than a 40.  A few 38s, no 36s.  But they DO have 36DDs at JC Penney's in the nursing bras.

I didn't have the engorgement problem so much. My breasts got a little bigger (enough for my 36DDD/E to get a little tight but not too bad) I just had to deal with the pain. I'd offer you all my old DD bras (which were in extremely good condition when I grew out of them, one was never even worn) But I grew out of them like 2 years ago and have donated them already haha. I have exactly 2 bras that fit because all the 36DDD/E bras are like $40+ each. I wish I were a C again, those were the days of the cute bras that didn't look like they belonged on an old lady. Not to mention the fact that back in those days I didn't have near as much back pain.
  • I actually decided to forego the entire buying new bras fiasco.  I'm a little in denial about the size of my breasts right now anyway.  LOL!!!  I have been wearing nursing tanks and they are the best.  I got them from Target and they are so comfortable and versatile.

But like a pp said, the engorgement goes down in a couple of days.  I know it's the devil right now though.  I felt like I had rocks in my breasts.
