Ugh - coworker just asked...

She just asked if I was eating for two in an email.

I am going to respond with no. I can't believe she would actually say that. Mind your business and wait until I announce. I am only 6 weeks for pete's sake.

Yes, I have hit the vending machine lately and munching all day, but that doesn't mean dittlely squat.

  • Ugh!  People are so rude!  I can never imagine coming out and just asking someone something like that.  Some people really need to learn boundaries.

  • Wow, what nerve.  Sorry you're having to put up with that!
  • I have had a couple people at work ask me too!  The worst part is that I am a supervisor and I'm above them.  The nerve of some people.....

  • it's hard to resist the urge not to respond "no, are you?" LOL ?that's sooo rude, not to mention dangerous!! what if you really weren't pregnant?! she could get attacked! LOL?

I've been dodging alot of questions with creative honesty LOL?

everyone keeps asking me why all the Drs appointments? I keep telling them "my allergies are really bad, i just cant take it anymore" which is completely true.. just has absolutely nothing to do with the Drs appointments LOL has more to do with being pregnant so I'm not taking my allergy meds LOL

a friend came over and saw a pregnancy test box in the bathroom trash and sked if we're pregnant so i told her "it's too early to know" I didnt say it's too early for ME to know.. it's just to early for her to know LOL

I'm sure the lord will forgive and may actually be impressed with my efforts to be honest while not blabbing LOL

  • It's funny - people are really different about this. Someone asked me (like 6 months ago) if I was eating for two - I wasn't pregnant (and wasn't even eating much), so that was pretty offensive (granted, I am a bigger girl), but still.

When another co-worker was pregnant, she switched to decaf coffee and expected me to notice - she actually yelled at me for not saying anything to her....

My co-workers have been getting on my nerves lately too. I had to leave work early last week because I was really dizzy and just not feeling well....immediately the questions starting coming "omg are you pregnant?" All I could think is...if I wanted people to know, they would know...sometimes people can be just a bit nosy!

  • I have been asked too!  Outright!  I couldn't believe it!  I just turn to them and ask them what makes you think I am pregnant? Do I look pregnant.  Never really answering the question.

I don't want to lie to them, but I am also not ready to tell them.  The people that I want to know, know.

I just had this happen this morning and my point was to inform them that it is unappropriate to ask that question because you have know idea what is going on in their life.

  • I would have replied, "that's funny, I was thinking of asking you the same question!"
