... So I realize I'm not even TTC (yet, will be soon) but I'm reading this book, and Aislinn is the name of the (female) main character. WDYT? I kinda like it. I might store it in my brain for if we ever have a dd... I looked it up and it is Gaelic, and means "dream".
Forgot... Would you pronounce this As-lynn?
Re: Aislinn
I would probably say Ace Lynn...is that correct?
Looks made up to me, but I found this...

Never would have thought to pronounce it that way.

This. I had no idea that the two names were pronounced the same.
I believe it would be pronounced Ashlyn even though it is spelled Aislinn.
I like the name Ashlyn and I found this website that has a list of Irish girl names and it has a button to press to hear the name being pronounced.Scroll down the page a little and you'll see it.

I like it better that way.
I have always really liked the name Aisling. I have seen Aislinn listed in some sources as an alternate version of Aisling. I think they are both pretty names.
I would pronounce is Ays-linn. I knew and Aislynn and this is how she pronounced it.
If you like the pronunciation Ash-linn, I would spell it Ashlynn or Ashlinn.
Honestly I don't love Aislinn or Ashlinn.

I love the name pronounced As-lin. I do not care for Ashlynn or spelling something from another country and not making it look American. People will forever mis-read; mis-speak the name. My husband's family are Irish and so we lean towards Irish/American names but as for actually BEING the Irish pronunciation and spelling...nah, I think i'd pass on that part.
AT: The lion in the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe is named Aislinn (not sure of the spelling). Or maybe it's Aisling.
I like the name but don't like it when people say it Ays-lyn or As-lyn since as we discovered it is supposed to be pronounced Ash-lyn. Not that I like Ashlyn better but I like when cultural names a pronounced correctly, not Americanized!
The Lion is named Aslan
