genetic counseling appt. tomorrow

i'm stressed... i know it's just a meeting to discuss options and stuff, right?  this is something that worries me because i am really on the fence with wanting to know everything possible vs. staying oblivious and hoping for the best.

what happened at your appt.?

Re: genetic counseling appt. tomorrow

  • We are not doing this.  We are only testing for stuff we can do something about.  I am of the mind set that you can't really plan for most of this stuff, so what's the point of finding out about it until you can deal with it anyway.  Just makes for a more stressful pregnancy IMO.   Good luck though.
I give up trying to get a ticker.  I have a DD that is 2.5 years old and is awesome.  Maybe I'll add a quote to distinguish myself.  Hmmm.  How about...

  • I haven't had mine yet, but my insurance (Kaiser)does have a lot of info online that I read through. It might be helpful for you even if you have different insurance: genetics.kaiser.org
  • Not sure what my insurance company will cover, or what my doc will recommend based on my age (soon 36), so I think about this a lot.  Two pregnant friends of mine who are my age opted to just do the blood testing and nuchal screening and nothing else based on good results from that.
