Lakewood Ranch Hospital

DId anyone deliver here? Would you recommend this hospital for future births?

I just moved to the area and need to find a new OB/GYN and have never heard anything in regards to if this hospital is any good or not. Any info would be appreciated!

    I have no personal experience with LWR hospital, however, several friends have delievered there and said great things.  I delivered DS at SMH (Sarasota Memorial) and was more than satisfied with the service and care.  One thing to consider is that LWR does not a have a NICU and if it was needed your baby would be transfered to SMH or All Children's in St. Pete.  Just something to think about.  :)

    I use Gulf Coast OB/GYN in Sarasota off the Bee Ridge Rd. Exit, right off the highway.  I am not really familiar with any OB/GYN practices in Bradenton. 

    The WCF Nestie board is pretty active and there are quite a few Mom's that hang out on that board.  Good luck with your search.

    Everyone I've heard of who delivered at LWR had a good experience. The only real negative experiences I've heard of in the area are with Manatee Memorial. We're set to deliver at SMH and I've been happy with my OBGYN and the office. We go to First Physicians Group - right across from SMH - and my doctor is Dr. Shroder.

    I had my boys there and they were great.  The nurses were really nice and the hospital was pretty much empty.  I would definetly go back there.
