FF Question (Similac Alimentum)

Hi Ladies!

Ok, so my little guy had to be switched to Alimentum because he was getting super colicy (is that even a word? lol). I was wondering if anyone was using this and then decided to switch to a complete different brand of formula, and got results too.

I know someone who's lttle one was sensitive to Enfamil, she tried the most hypoallergenic type (which worked fine) but then decided to switch to Gerber Good Start... She did so with success and her LO doesn't have to be on the sensitive formula. Hope that makes sense.

Has this happened to anyone else? Any thoughts, ideas, advice...?

TIA

Re: FF Question (Similac Alimentum)

  • We switched to Alimentum and I see a considerable difference in fussiness. If my LO didn't have AR I'm pretty sure I'd have a normal happy baby thanks to Alimentum.

  • We switched to Alimentum after trying several different Enfamils. They didn't work. We noticed a difference right away with the Alimentum. His skin cleared up, he became such a more happy baby and has less bad vomiting spells.

Does your LO have dairy allergy??  Alimentum is a hypoallergenic formula that is specifically for babies that are allergic to milk protein.  Otherwise, it isn't necessary for them to be on it...

Not that I know of. He was on Similac Sensitive and was doing fine on it with occasional gas but all of a sudden he's become a major crank pot due to more gas issues. He spent the last 2 night/days grunting and waking from his sleep either crying or grunting really loud trying to release gas.

Our pedi said to switch to Alimentum if the gas issues didn't reside... so I switched last night. But I feel like maybe I can avoid the Alimentum by switching to a different brand all toghether. I'll discuss it with him when we go in for our 2 month check up but I wanted to get some opinions.
