XP - weight gain

Hi girls, I know what I've got going on right now is just bloat, it's too early for anything else, but I'm up 3 pounds since BFP (at 8DPO).

Anyone else gained like this?

I'm pretty petite (5'3" 120# before pregnancy) so this is looking like a lot on me, especially since it's all in my tummy.

I bought a few shirts that are a size up and I bought shorts in regular size instead of petite and that's helping to hide it a little, but I'm feeling pretty self conscious.

I should add, I'm not over eating, trying to eat for two, and I'm still exercising.

Re: XP - weight gain

  • I'm guessing the weight gain is probably from the extra blood/water weight your body is producing for LO. I wouldn't be concerned.

Plus, if you're on the smaller side pre-pregnancy, you should probably gain a little more weight than someone who was heavier pre-pregnancy.

Wear lots of dresses and get a bella band.

I haven't weighed in lately, but I was at my OB right around ovulation day, and then I was back three weeks later pregnant, and I had gained FIVE pounds.  I think for me, part of the problem is that two of the medicines I was taking before I got pregnant were appetite suppressants (not on purpose - that was just kind of a random side effect) and I stopped taking them immediately when I found out I was pregnant.  Add that to the normal pregnancy starvation and the water weight and poof, I'm huge.

  • I haven't gained any weight but I don't understand how I haven't since I've gone up 2 cup sizes since the BFP. My waist is also an inch bigger

You're supposed to gain about 5 pounds in 1st tri, so don't stress, most of your weight is probably water weight, and if you get m/s you'll lose that.
