XP: Subchorionic hemorrhage

What is your experience with it?

On Monday's u/s, the RE said I had it, not to worry, and I may experience bleeding.  Well, I can't help but to worry, especially if I don't know if it's the SCH or a possible m/c since I've never experienced bleeding before.  My spotting started off pink...and it's changing to a  red/orangish color.

I had a SCH with my last pg, but never had any bleeding.

Re: XP: Subchorionic hemorrhage

  • I am fairly sure a friend of mine has this. She started bleeding and was of course terrified so she went to the ER. They didn't find the hemorage until they did an ultrasound to check and make sure the baby was alright. The baby was perfect and they told her that she would probably experience bleeding again but not to worry about it unless she was cramping too.

So far it hasn't complicated her pregnancy at all. Hope that helps.

  • I'm sorry you're going through this and even having to worry about it.  Is your spotting bright red?

I found out on Friday that I have the same thing.  My doctor said that mine is relatively small and to not worry, but also warned me about the possibility of spotting.  I haven't had any yet (knock on wood).  She put me on pelvic rest, however, and told me to take it easy.  No sex, no running, no jumping on trampolines :).  They're going to take a look at it at my next appt (6/17) and see what to do, then.

    GL to you.

  • I have a subchorionic hematoma and I have had heavy bleeding and I've passed large clots (golf ball sized).  I am on pelvic rest and that has helped stop the bleeding.  I've had three episodes of bleeding and after the last episode I went in for an ultrasound and everything was normal (strong HB).  It sucks but take it easy!  Don't lift things and don't work out.  That will help the hematoma to heal and hopefully go away.  Good luck!
