ds (2 yrs old)has a fever of 103.4 the fever started around this time last night but was only like 101.8 . I have been switching back and forth between motirn and tylenol and i was dropping back to like 99.0. but early this after noon it was spiking to 102.6 and i just gave him tylenol and and checked his temp around 7 and it was 102.8 so bc i just gave him the tylenol i let it go and checked it at 7:30 and it shot up to 103.4 i have a call into the dr. but what would you do?? take him into the ER?
He isnt acting miserable just real blah! and he isnt eating much at all i and im making him drink alot but he hasnt had very many diapers today.
Re: he has a 103.4 fever
do a lukewarm bath soak for about 15 minutes...sponge his body down so he cools off. dress him in cool clothes and try not to hold him because of trapped body heat.
I'd call the on call doctor but if they're like mine, they'll say monitor and make sure he doesn't have a seizure or get higher.

I agree with pp. Try a lukewarm bath, and keep alternating the motrin and tylenol until you hear back from the doctor. Hopefully it won't be too much longer.
Does he like popsicles? Those might be a nice alternative to juice to help keep him hydrated.
Hope you lil' guy gets well soon! It's such the pits when our DC don't feel good, and we can't do much to help.
My Pedi said to bring my DD to urgent care if the fever goes to 104 or higher and I can't bring it down with tylenol and motrin and a bath. We ended up going because it got up to 105.3 and they gave her something to bring her temp down, the Dr there said that fevers almost always are higher at night and then start coming down around midnight. Most important was that she drinks and has a least 2 wet diapers per day.
