Annoyed by comment...minor vent

Let me just say that usually I don't get annoyed by random people but this just rubbed me the wrong way.

So today I went to Target.  As I am walking down one of the main aisles, I hear a woman say (shout is more like it)  to her son "check this out" and pointing to me.  I felt like a freaking circus act!  I wanted to say something but I just kept walking.

No way! Just when I think I've heard the ultimate in rudeness, I hear stories like this! I would have turned around to her and said, "look at WHAT?? A pregnant lady? What's newsworthy about that?"

People can be amazingly rude! I had a lady the other day in the nail salon overhear me say I was pregnant. She says to me, "you are? I thought you were just fat!"

I just laugh at it anymore! On a side note, I'm from SD, too! East County areaCool

oops, just read your ticker, she was referring to you and two babies, not being prego. That is still completely rude. Was it your stroller? There are lots of families now with several little ones in tow. I don't get why people have to be like that? I guess it's just best to think of the old adage, "consider the source"!Angry

Congrats on your twins!  I am in north county.  It could have been my stroller.  I have the kolcraft tandem stroller which is rather long but still some people need to turn on their "comment filter" before they speak ;-)

  • That is so rude.  People are out of control!  I've had people point and say something to the person they are with as well.....so rude!

Thanks! It was def a shocker for us for our first "baby(ies)", but we are so ecstatic for this blessing! I've been a lurker here, just trying to see what we have in store as parents of multiples. This board has been really helpful in everything from possible complications to what other's experiences have been.

I'm fully expecting people out and about to treat me as a three ring circus as our dynamic duo arrives. We purchased the new Chicco double tandem, and it, too is a bit long. Maybe I should just pre-empt the stupid comments by placing a "the circus is in town" sign over my strollerStick out tongue

Awesome!  I am in need of one of these signs!  I was walking through the store the other day and a woman nudged her friend and said "whoa!" as she was looking at my belly.  Seriously? I am not that big, even my OB says that, but maybe I am just telling myself that to make me feel better... I think I need to wear this sign around my neck.

My husband says when we go out that we should just charge people a dollar since we are quite an attraction.  I don't mind when they smile and say something nice, but not everyone is as nice and some people just say things like, "good luck."  So far the rudest comment we got was an old guy who saw we had two girls and said to my husband, "You might as well just shoot yourself now."  No kidding.....we almost died!  So rude!!!
