Babies: 9 - 12 Months

1st bday party planning

So my LO will be a year in September, but never too early to start right? lol I wanted to know who's keeping it small and who's doing a big shin dig. I started just mentally thinking about the guest list and it's getting big. Now that I'm in a mom's club and MOPS I feel like I want to invite the mommy's I'm good friends with, and that's a lot in addition to other friends I have that have kids. We only have 2 kids, an 8 yr old and 1.5 yr old that are relatives, but my friend's kids age ranges from like 5 to 9.

I'm at a standstill as far as knowing what to do. There's so many possibilities! Park or home? indoors or out? small or big? lol

Re: 1st bday party planning

  • We're having my parents, and a couple that we are good freinds with.  So six adults and DS.  That's it.  Dinner at our home, cake, a present or two.  Small and low key.  I'm not a big party person.

  • We usually just have small gatherings at first. DS will be 3 in the fall and this is the first year he will have a larger party with friends.

  • We are having a big cook out.  We are only inviting family and a couple  of really cloes friends and it is just over 60 people.  We have a large family and we are super close so we have no other option.  I love parties and I am so excited to have his first bday so it is no worries to me.  We have 13 kids coming ranging from under 1 to 10 so we have a wide range of ages due to all the cousins. I think what ever makes you happy and comfortable you should do.  I am use to the crowd.  Just have fun with it.
  • We're having it outdoors, (backyard) and are having about 25 adults and about 12 kids.  It's mostly alll family and very close friends. We're having a cupcake theme, and grilling Mexican food.
  • we have about 25 adults and 12 kids. Party is in July and we are doing a pool party at a local community center. Curious George theme. Thats all I've got so far.
