Anyone know how much it approximately costs for wisdom teeth removal?? I have to have this done soon (3 teeth) and am trying to work out the budget. I am scared, lol. Thanks!!
For four I think it's going to cost me about $700---that's with novacaine and laughing gas. If I got put under it was about $1200. That is not including the xray that the other dentist took though (different offices).
It's pricey--but sometimes the medical insurance covers it--so you may want to call.
Mine was covered by dental at 50% but pretty much wiped out my $1k max for the year.
My top two were completely out and they just needed to be pulled. I got Novocaine and that's it. They pulled them both right in the office. No oral surgeon. That wasn't too expensive, but I don't remember the price.
My bottom two on the other hand... they are partially impacted. I have to go to an oral surgeon for those and it will require more than Novocaine. That will cost much more.
I would call your dentist's office - they should be able to provide you with the numbers (after insurance). I ask all the time at my dentist's office what having certain procedures will cost me out of pocket.
I just had one pulled this morning. I only had to have novocain and my insurance covered most of it. Only cost me $176 for the extraction and 2 fillings.

When I had mine removed, my dad didn't have insurance, so he ended up paying $1500 out of pocket. the top two had to be completely cut out, and the bottom two where half out (the front part). Since he paid cash, they gave him some sort of discount. Also, they put me to sleep all the way, not just a numbing medicine. HTH.
I just had mine out last week and before they pulled them (put under, removed all four impacted wisdom teeth) my oral surgeon called my insurance company to get a out of pocket estimate. My out of pocket will be $150. I double checked at work and this was the norm for everyone else in the same situation. Super cheap! So maybe it will work out the same? I was definitely pleasantly surprised.

Notes:
It completely depends on the teeth.

Thanks! Wow, it is expensive. I do have dental insurance that will pay 50% but it looks like I will still end up with a big bill
