My first u/s

Well, I went to my first u/s at the RE's office yesterday. According to the doctor that did the u/s everything looked excellent. We heard and saw the heartbeat. According to my LMP I should've been 7w4d along, the u/s showed 7w1d, so I'm pretty much on target. I have to go back next Tuesday for another u/s with my actual RE, at which point he will confirm the EDD. Then after that they will release me to my OB. It was so surreal actually seeing and hearing it. It actually feels real now.I can't stop staring at the u/s pictures. I am still cautiously optimistic and will feel better after the first tri is over. My DH is dying to tell people, but I still want to keep it to ourselves. I would love to tell my sisters, but I know that we would have to tell his parents too. My in-laws are good people, but MIL can be very opinionated and I know that as soon as she finds out, it will be just a boatload of unwanted advice. I'm kind of enjoying it being just our little secret. We've agreed on waiting until father's day to tell the family. Hopefully we can wait that long.
