Anyone else? My dog has been following my every move, not leaving my side when I'm home, and curling up right next to me wherever I am, ever since my bfp. He's being more protective than I've ever seen him. It's actually really sweet
Aw, don't you love it? My dog was one of my first clues I was pregnant, he would lay across my tummy (never had before). Now he wants to be next to me all the time and when my husband gets close to me he seems to get jealous haha.
Our weiner dog (not a dachshund, just a weiner in general) is frantically trying to climb in the pack ranking lately so something is up but I don't think he's noticed the baby yet. Bahaha.
My dogs keep on sniffing my belly and nudging it. They did this with my son and now again with the second one. It is nice to know that they are there and protecting the baby and I. It is also nice when I have the emotional crying from pregnancy, the come up and cuddle with me thinking there is something wrong when I am just crying because I am pregnant...LOL
Looking back I think my dog knew I was pregnant a few days before I got my bfp. She started acting very strange, but instead of being really clingy she was acting very anxious. She usually sits with me all the time and is my little shadow but for a good two months she really seemed stressed, was throwing up, hiding in the corners of the house, and wouldn't sit with me. It made me really sad. I thought she was sick for a while and took her into the vet many times before my vet realized this was a behavioral issue, probably due to the changes I was going through and that it was probably freaking her out. My other two, however, became extremely clingy with me, especially my pom mix. She usually is the independent one but lately she wont stop crawling into my lap. My chihuahua has settled down quite a bit but she is still not as clingy as she use to be. Probably for the best because, even though they are small, three dogs in my lap doesn't really work all that well lol.
It could just be me being weird, but I think my male cat knows. Lately he's been snuggling up against my tummy in bed at night. Hubby says he's just going for the warmth, but my tummy doesn't feel any warmer than the rest of my body, so why there? :P
I think my dog knows too, he always wants to be with me on the couch and he'll sleep beside me and rest his head on my tummy. lol I hope that's not a dominance thing (I'll rest my hand on top of his head to that I'm on 'top') But he has been more cuddly for sure. He'll also come check on me in the bathroom when I'm trowing up, its actually sort of cute.
My dog seems clueless - she even stole my pb&j I was eating for breakfast off the coffee table! I told her she should never steal food from a pregnant lady! LOL!
