Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Went to the mall at lunch, and saw this:

Mothers propping up a bottle for their baby while they are pushing their strollers!

It's like, "Hello?  It takes 15 minutes to give your kid a bottle.  If you can't peel yourself away from the clearance rack at Bebe for that long to feed your kid then don't come to the mall!"

And, yes, this one particular mother was wearing Daisy Duke shorts ... they were literally up her crack ... and was carrying a huge Bebe bag.

agree...and does it make you feel better now that you came on here and tattled on them?

  • I was more surprised by the propped up bottle, the Daisy Dukes up the crack was just pure catty gravy.

I don't see how it's that shocking. Propping up a bottle doesn't cause death or anything. Judge away...but I do it. I'm sorry but when I'm grocery shopping or running other errands...I'd like to get it done, LO has no problems with it.

    Catty Gravy...love it!

  • Seriously?

Drew gets a bottle like that ALL the time. I have three kids - we do what we have to. And who cares what the mom was wearing - what does that have to do with anything?

Yep.  When I have errands to run, I'm always happy E is adaptable enough to take the bottle on the go!  (And my name is Natalie for all those who named their girls the same - it's a great name, hehe)

Ok, since I can't understand internet tone - is it directed to me or OP?

  • I won't lie.

If I saw that in a mall or something... I'd judge.

The grocery store, or while rangling other children, or whatever...that's your own business. But at the mall, where you could easily find a bench, sit down, and feed your baby? No ma'am.

And daisy dukes bring out the judgey mcjudgerson in a lot of people. Including myself. No, it's not because I can't wear them, it's because they look whorey.

No, I was not talking you.  I was talking to all the people hating on her for wearing short shorts.  Maybe they looked good, who knows.  I still wear pretty short shorts (my cheeks def do not hang out, but not knee length either).  I honestly don't see what the big deal is about what she was wearing.

Hummm...I guess that this is when that third arm would come in handy. Stick out tongue  Then maybe I could hold onto my chunky monkey, hold the bottle and push the cart.  Unfortunately, I shop at places like walmart, target and the grocery store, where there are no benches in convenient areas.  I try to avoid it by planning around his eating times, but I feed on demand, so it's not a guarantee.

I hate to think I've been judged for it!  Ladies, there are so many other things to concern yourself with.  I at least pull a quiet aisle or corner, feed him and take him out to burp him.  I thought I was avoiding issues by doing that much...

But, pick your battles.  Would you rather listen to a screaming baby as I work my way to a quiet area or would you rather I multi-task on the way by feeding him as we walk there?

    Seriously?

This exactly and it take my LO way longer than 15 minutes to eat so when I am in a pinch I do it too. I also have my 3 year old hold the bottle sometimes too. I bet I am a horrible mom for that too.

  • Oh my gosh, I totally saw this today too! Even DH commented on it. Seriously....find a bench and feed your kid!
  • Yah i would judge too.  On both propping a bottle in the mall and wearing shorts up the crack of her butt.

  • I do it all the time too. Finding a bench and feeding isn't that easy, when my 3 year old would be running all over the place. I can think of much unsafer things to judge about.
