ways to be SAH mom...

I saw all of your posts about how upset you are about going back to work. I am, too! I think we ALL want the same thing - to be there for our kid(s) instead of leaving to go to work for hours each week & also still have enough money to support the family. What can we all do? We need to come up with ideas! Does anyone know about anything legitamate & lucrative online? I am serious...if I could come up with something, I'd work all night & just nap when he naps during the day. Any ideas?

Re: ways to be SAH mom...

  • Seriously the only people I've come across that can do this either sell something on Etsy/online or do transcriptions. I would love ideas!

  • My husband found a better paying job within his company.  Granted, it is in Europe and not the US but that doesn't mean it's not something you all couldn't do.  Other options are, downsize your living arrangements (ie sell your house or rent it out and rent a smaller house).  You could find another job where you work a different schedule.  There are tons of options besides online.
  • I work part time nights as a nurse, one 12 hour and one 8 hour shift, so I can be home all day with DS. That takes a whole lot of school though to get your RN.

But there have to be other night shift jos out there...

  • Chacha isn't great money, but it's fully legit.  If anyone wants to use me as a referrel they can.  my email is jmballman@gmail.com

  • I wouldn't go with a transcription job if I were you.  It's a dying profession with the era of electronic medical records upon us.

Trust me, I used to work for a medical software company.  Every practice that bought our software ended up laying off their Transcriptionist.

I felt terrible every time I installed the software at a new practice and trained the staff.
