Had to tell boss

Sigh - I really wanted to wait to tell him. I like my boss and all, but he isn't necessarily one of the people I want to UNtell should anything happen - kwim?

But with all the puking, not being able to look at my computer screen for more than 5 minutes at a time, peeing every hour, nausea/headaches making me go home, and extra dr appts, I figured it was easier telling him than making up excuses.

I think he's pretty trustworthy - and I explained about the not wanting to untell, so I hope he doesn't spread it around. His wife just had a baby too, so he took it really well and I think he understands...

When did you guys tell your bosses (or when will you)?

Re: Had to tell boss

  • I'll tell the bosses right before I tell the rest of my coworkers....in a few weeks, after a solid ultrasound.

  • I want to tell him right now. But I will wait until at least after my u/s on June 7th.

I told my boss last week after my second u/s.

For this child I prayed, and the LORD has given me my petition which I asked of him.

I told her a few days after my BFP.  She has two young children and swears that she understands not wanting everyone to know yet.  I need her support in terms of getting out for doc appts and if we did experience a loss, I would need her to know what was going on.

  • Still debating on this issue. I will probably tell him after I tell my co-workers, or before. I plan on doing this at 12 weeks. It is getting harder and harder to keep the secret though, a few ladies at work are already suspicious.
  • I had to tell my boss as soon as I knew, but that's because I am a furniture manager and I move lots of heavy items.
  • I told mine because I am involved in some stressful stuff from time to time, and wanted him to know I didn't need any additional drama.  He was really cool about it, very happy for me.  He is the kind of guy who likes to know stuff right from the get go, so I figured I might as well tell him, because if it didn't work out I would probably take a few days off work anyway.  Everyone I have told are the same people I would turn to in the event of a loss.  I am waiting to tell the "second tier" until after my ultrasound on Friday, then the world after the first trimester.
  • Unfortunatley my boss has a big mouth and I know she would not keep a secret.  She tells me person things about other co-workers that I do not feel is appropriate for her to share so I cannot trust her.  I'm going to try and wait until after 12 weeks to tell anyone.

So far I don't have vomiting, etc. to make her suspect anything.  However, I'm a little worried because I have to travel for work in a few weeks so I'm praying I don't have M/S.

  • I told my boss's boss last week when he caught me throwing up.  I don't plan on telling my boss till at least a solid U/S next week....or 12 weeks.  depending.
