Clicky: Giving LO milk

Re: Clicky: Giving LO milk

  • No milk here b/c Drew has a dairy intolerance.  If I drink milk he breaks out in red spots about 12 hours later.  So I don't plan on giving it straight to him any time soon. :-)

ETA: If he wasn't affected by it I'd probably give it early.  I've broken all kinds of other food rules.

  • Yup. DD gets a little bit in her sippy every morning. She loves it but only has a few swigs and then puts it down.
  • I clicked no milk until after 1year.....that is just b/c LO is allergic and I am holding off as long as I can in the hopes he's outgrown the allergy!
  • This poll must be psychic, because we just started the transition last night.  DD was allergic to milk protein when she was younger, but thankfully she outgrew it.  She's had sips of cow's milk recently to make sure she tolerated it well, but last night was the first time we gave her a few ounces in her straw cup.  My milk is drying up and we've been supplementing with formula, so basically we are transitioning her from BM/formula, to mostly formula with a little cow's milk, to mostly cow's milk by one.
