Anyone have success with using B6 supplements to help with the morning sickness? I've been using them for about 4 days and they SEEM to be working, the nausea isn't bringing on dry heaves like it was before. But the nausea comes and goes sometimes, so I'm not sure I can attribute feeling better to the B6.
Re: B6 supplements and morning sickness?
Well, I just realized that I was taking entirely TOO MUCH. Apparently the max you're supposed to take while pregnant is 100mg. So, my prenatal has 1.5mg and the supplement I was taking was 200mg (10,000% daily value - eek!!). So, since I realized I was taking too much, I changed to supplement to 50 mg.
After reading this post I'm buying B6 today and getting on this bandwagon. Haven't had a problem b/c it's so early but I wouldn't mind not puking.
Just be sure you don't take too much. B6 is a water soluble vitamin but it doesn't flush out of your system like regular water soluble vitamins do- it stays in your muscles. The max all together you should be getting including what you get from food is like 100mg. I actually cut my pills in half.
