First, a recommendation: run your diapers through a rinse cycle in the washer first, and THEN put them in for the RnG soak. Makes for a *much* less messy and sludge-y soak!!!
I usually do an overnight soak with 3T of RnG and a capful of Calgon (we have hard water). I've done an hour, and the results were just "eh." I think four hours is the shortest amount of time I've soaked with good results.
I did a short cold wash to get rid of the ewwwies Then I added 3 tbsp of RnG, filled the wash tub with hot water, and let it agitate for maybe 3 minutes, then left it for 12 hours.
TOTALLY worth it. I finished the wash cycle, and did two warm/warm cycles to really get a good rinse.
I am SO pleased with how much stink is GONE, like totally and completely GONE.

The diapers were all clean before I put them in apparently they were just "clean-ish"
I had to pull out 7 diapers to go through the washer for a few rinses for daycare tomorrow (after 1 hour), but I will move the others to my smaller tub (one of those large grey toy tubs from Walmart) so I can shower tomorrow and they get a good soak.

Sounds like a good plan!! I have to do a soak about once a month because of our d@mn HE washer, and I LOVE how clean my diapers come out after the soak. Can't wait to hear how yours turn out
I soaked mine for an hour or two the other night (working on the second half of my stash tonight). I did a full cold wash with a little detergent and then the hot wash for the soak (added a pot of boiling water). Then I put the diapers out in the sun the next day to dry. I can't be sure what did the most good, but WOW. my diapers have never smelled clean and fresh like that.
ETA: I have a front loader. Also, used regular RnG - my order of Hard Rock is on it's way. We have super hard water.

You live where I grew up!
Random, I know. I went to Osceola HS (yea, the "other" HS...did you go to school around there?)
