Does anyone know if Target will exchange something without a receipt? My Mom got DD a toy organizer thing for an early bday present and I went to put it together last night and one of the pieces of wood is cracked and chipped! I want to exchange it but don't have the receipt. My Mom does have it, but she's in Buffalo....was going to go there tomorrow anyways and was wondering if they'd swap it for me.

I want to say no but I'm not 100% sure. I think their return/exchange policy is very strict (read: sucky). I'd call first.

Hm, I would say yes...they should be able to exchange it without a receipt. Especially since it is damaged!

i would say yes. they are very strict. but i think you ocan return something 3 times a year without a receipt

They do accept returns without a receipt, although I think you can only do it a limited amount of times per year, and there's a dollar amount limit for the item. If you have the credit card that you purchased the item with they can look up the receipt for you and you don't need it. (Although that doesn't help your situation).

But I would give it a shot- especially because you're exchanging.

I'd think they would, considering it's damaged. May just be good to call first.

they do have some kind of limit on returns w/out receipt, but they will as long as you haven't reached it.... store credit for current selling price.

I think if its damaged they will.. We have definitley returned stuff like that damaged and they've exchanged it no problem.. You might have to show ID or something.
