Pregnant after a Loss

Swelling on only one side???

My hands and feet started swelling this weekend (boo). It's weird, though, because my right hand and right foot/ankle are WAY swollen, but my left is just barely swelling. I probably wouldn't even notice the swelling on my left -except for the ridiculousness of my other foot.

Is that weird?

Re: Swelling on only one side???

  • Hi! Haven't seen you on here in a while! Took my classes at Bryan and down to weekly appointments now - Dr. Friesen was busy with a surgery last time so I got the APRN (Peg), and she was great - she was the one I saw after my m/c. Other than the weird swelling - how's everything going for you?

I have seen other people post similar things like this and while it's usually nothing, I'd be concerned if it were me and would break down and call.

  • I would call. Not to worry but sometimes one sided swelling could be a clot. Typically, swelling is bilateral during pregnancy.

  • The only thing that hurts is the skin on my foot 'cause it's pretty swollen. My arm and leg aren't really swollen, just my right hand and right foot/ankle. I don't have any pain or feel bad otherwise. My doctor's office is closed. I have an appointment at 2 tomorrow. I'm off work in 30 min. I'm gunna go home and put my feet up, and if that doesn't reduce the swelling I'll see if they want me to come in. I'm glad I already have an appointment tomorrow, because I wouldn't want to wait longer than that either way.

Hey! This is really weird - but I think I was sitting behind you in BF class. I just couldn't think of a way to say "Hey stranger, are you on the bump?" Without sounding like an idiot or being afraid it wasn't actually you Smile

Everything else is going great. Up to this Sunday when my foot freaked out (and except for that) I feel great. DH and I are moving down south and it's SO frustrating not to be able to help him, but I'm excited to move Smile

How are you doing? You're almost ready to go! Smile

  • This happens to me, only opposite.  My doc said it's totally normal... just depends on the way the baby is laying.

I was LATE to class - oops. And where were the snacks?! Had I been there early, we could've chatted it up! And I wouldn't have had to sit right in front! Smile

Good luck with your appointment tomorrow - hopefully it's nothing! Definitely call in the morning if it's alarming - maybe they can at least squeeze you in early. And have fun sitting back watching the move take place - enjoy that you don't have to help!
