That is where my OB delivers. Loved the info packet they gave us and considering signing up for our classes there right away and scheduling the tour for the same time... seems like a great place, but anyone know firsthand?
If so, I specifically want to know if they allowed/suggested skin to skin right after birth (versus immediately cleaning and swaddling) and how their baby classes are.
TIA!
Re: Anyone deliver at Adventist Medical Center?
I gave birth to my daughter at Adventist and loved the experience. I am giving birth at Providence this time(insurance changed) and I just hope that my experience is as good as it was at Adventist. I remember them giving my daughter to me and telling me that I could hold her until I was ready for them to take her from me to clean her up.
I would suggest if there are specifics of what you want, to go in with a birth plan. They are going to most likely respect that plan unless they are medically unable to.
Allow was the wrong word... I guess I meant if that is their standard practice. I can definitely stand up for myself and get what I want, so I'm not too worried even if what I want (in general) does happen to be against policy, but the more smoothly things can go, the better.
They do actually have a birth plan sheet to use as a guide included right in their info packet so I'm taking that as a good sign. Glad to hear something good about them & hopefully the tour will finalize the choice.
