Anyone else's mom out of control?

She is over-the-top excited.  This will be her first grandchild, and she needs this excitment and distraction in her life.  My dad passed away nine years ago, and my mom still struggles a little, mostly just with loneliness, so this is a good thing for her.  Anyway, she is out of control.  The baby is all she thinks about, and talks about, she is constantly window shopping.  It's cute, but a bit excessive! :)

Oh, and she started talking about my baby shower the other day! Seriously? I'm 8 weeks! She wants to book a place ASAP.  I asked her to wait until we know this is a sticky baby--she's going to have to hold her horses for at least another month!

    Hehe. That's kinda cute kinda outa control! My mom is excited and thinks this pregnancy will go well. She has invited herself to my 8 week U/S but I don't really mind. She was there when my U/S showed no heart beat so.... she can come this time for reassurance. I am the only girl and the youngest so I think my baby shower(s) will be CRAZY! She is definately not booking a location yet though! The thing she is freaking out about a lot is christmas- where is it going to be, how will it work, when is the baby coming, how will I recover, who can come... I am like uhhh... too early to worry about this!!! I kind of have learned how to reign my mom in a bit.

    Awww... that is so cute!

    I hope MIL and my step mom are a faction of that excited after we tell them next week!

    Getting there.  She mails me any article she finds on pregnancy, and calls every day with a new name idea.  Her latest, for a girl, Tottie.  Indifferent  haha...

    Omg my mom is the same way! Sendig me links to baby stuff online all day and already discussing the home renovations her and my dad are going to do on THEIR house! She's been throwing names out there since the last pregnancy and keeps telling me she's positive this one is going to work out for us (which is nice don't get me wrong). The problem with the name thing is she loves trendy names - named me Jessica in it's peak year of '87! Trendy names are nice but totally NMS. The best is when she suggests her or one of her three sisters' names. Haha oh moms!

    haha, this is why I haven't told our mom's yet...after my wedding experience I can't even imagine what they'll do

    My Mom is being super chill. My MIL on the other hand, is borderline uncomfortable with how over-the-top she is  being. I hope she'll get used to the idea and tone it down a few notches.

    For instance the belly rubbing and talking to the belly started the day we told them. Yikes.

    That's a sweet sentiment, but I can see how that could be a bit annoying. My mother is the same way. She was just ridiculous about my nephew and they ended up having a falling out so now all of her attention is on me. I'm a bit concerned too so I know what you mean!

    Not yet, but we only spent one day with her after announcing before she left on a trip to the other side of the country. I'm sure she'll get pretty into it soon. Most of her friends have grandkids already and she is SO ready!

    My mom is right there too. She's already tried to figure out when to have my baby shower too. She's overthinking everything. She's very excited and I'm letting her, as long as it doesn't get over the top.

    oh I completely agree, my mom is NUTS. we lost a baby at 17 weeks last year so shes holding back from how nutty she was then til were past the D day just togive me some space but she's already toy shopping online LOL we're planning baby shower times only because she lives on the other end of the country so there's alot of travel involved in both directions.?

    first go round she went NUTS every week I got a package in the mail of baby toys, bottle cleaners, maternity tops etc.?

    but I guess that's what being a grandma is all about :)

    My mom doesn't even know yet.  She will not be excited at all so that's why I haven't told her.
