Making Home Affordable Program

I know this was mentioned 3-4 weeks ago but I am bringing it back up in hopes of getting any updates from those of you that were applying? Anyone heard anything? Anyone new apply?

I sent my application Fed-Ex and it arrived to them on 4/7 but every time I tried to call for an update- no app was found. I was getting really worried but then FINALLY yesterday they saw the app and said my account was finally in reveiw. Said it could take 45-60+ days but I don't know if that is from when they received it or what but I will be patient for a bit before I call again. I'm just glad to take this one baby step forward.

    the only experience i have of this program, is that my in-laws applied for it.  my MIL had a terrible illness two summers ago and ended up with tens of thousands of dollars in hospital bills that they were unable to pay.  (they were struggling to make ends meet in the first place.)  then after months of waiting, they got a response back that they were willing to save them $4 a month on their mortgage.  $4!  needless to say, they moved out of the house last fall and let it go into foreclosure.

    I was actually just approved for my loan modification, AFTER 7 months on the program. My modification payments go into effect on June 1. It was stressful, we still received collection calls up until we were approved, we were constantly sending in paperwork, because they didn't receive it or it wasn't filled out properly. My suggestion to you is to make and keep copies of everything they send you, and to constantly follow up. The program is saving me about $700 per month, my final modification price went up about $118 from what I was paying on the trial payment, so if you are approved, just know the price can go up and for some people I've heard it goes down a little bit after the initial trial payments.
