We had our BIG ultrasound today...

...and it's a BOY!!! I was so nervous last night and this morning, but everything went really well. Baby looks good and we're still measuring right on track for the end of October.

My insurance covered 3D/4D, afterall. They didn't even ask if we wanted it done. They just did it. The doctor told us that, in his opinion, the 3D images are more for entertainment purposes. He said it doesn't tell him anything more than what a 2D tells him. Baby was moving around a lot and was positioned right under my belly button most of the time, which made the imaging a little difficult. The doctor apologized a couple of times for making our baby look "scary". He also said our baby looked like Skeletor because the computer software didn't have enough info to work with from the 2D (since Baby kept moving around so much). He was fuuny. Stick out tongue In the end, I'm glad we have the 3D images, but I'm not sure I would have paid extra for them...just my own 2 cents. Anyway, I just thought I'd share my own personal experience. Smile

Yeah, I think the 3D can be hit or miss. Ours was really clear, but our friends just had theirs done (same place as you) and theirs was a little ambiguous, too. Probably depends on baby's position and movement. Oh well, no loss if insurance pays! Congrats!

Yes, hooray for insurance! I'm thankful we had the opportunity to get the 3D done. We have some nice pictures of Baby smiling. Smile I know Renee had some really clear 3D images of Ashton. Baby just had a mind of his own today. Stick out tongue

Congrats! I'm so excited for you. For awhile it was all team pink and now it's a ton of team blue... perfect for all of us who had girls! Raise your boys well so my little lady can have a great hubby

I didn't really think the 3D would be worth the extra money either. We never paid for the 3D they just have the technology in our office and every once in awhile she would flash the picture so we could see it. I liked the 2D images just fine. We did get a couple good pics of B with 3D but to pay $200+ to get them would have been a waste!
