new to the boards

I am new to the boards.  We are half way through our sixth week.  We have our first doctor's appoint on Thursday.  I've started getting nervous.  I didn't realize how up and down the first 8 weeks are.  This is my first child, and I've not been around many people with kids.  We're kinda starting from scratch.  Let me put it this way, I've never even changed a diaper.  Is that weird??  I think so.

    Congrats and welcome to the board!  :) 

    Don't worry about not having much experience with kids, we all have to learn sometime!  And if it would make you feel better, there are usually classes on infant care that you and DH can take at hospitals, birthing centers etc that will go through things like bathing, changing diapers, taking care of the umblical cord etc.

    Welcome.

    And don't stress about not having much experience.  Your instincts will kick in and you'll be just fine.  Also, OB nurses are fantastic about showing you how to do things.  You'll be fine.

    Don't worry I had never changed a diaper before either until DH and I watched our niece for a weekend. It's really not that bad. You get the hang of it pretty quickly. Especially since you have to do it ALL the time! LOL

    If it makes you feel better, I have changed diapers and I am NOT good at it at all!  Practice makes perfect! Big Smile

    Congratulations!
    I give up trying to get a ticker.  I have a DD that is 2.5 years old and is awesome.  Maybe I'll add a quote to distinguish myself.  Hmmm.  How about...
