anyone else deal with tears at drop off still? He didn't cry ONE day and I was shocked, but they were doing artwork that day right as I was dropping him off.
He is totally fine when he's there during the day and does well, but the drop offs still kill me. I know he is happy and well taken care of, but do the tears EVER end?
Re: 3 months in daycare and still cries when dropped off
I am sure yall have tried this but what helps is me being excited and talking about school and his friends and his teacher, etc. And on Sunday he helps me get his napmat ready to go and we put all of our stuff by the back door so we can get it in the morning. I let him pick his shirt (give him two choices) or something similar and just act really excited about how much fun he will have. We interact on the way to school in the morning too, like singing, etc.
He learns new songs at school, this week is Row Row Row Your Boat so we sing that and talk about what new things he will learn, etc. He is almost 2 and doesn't understand everything I am saying but I still want to talk to him and know that every day he understands more and more. It has helped tremendously. It also helps that I just walk him in hand over his lunchbox and sippy and he goes to his teacher and I say "bye momma loves you and I will come get you when I get off work" and he waves and goes in.
If we vary from that he gets upset, but if it is quick and easy he has no issues at all. The teacher knows we can't chat until I come pick him up - if I stand there in the morning he gets upset so I just drop and go but he has started waving and I always tell him I will pick him up when I get off so he is great now.
I'm sorry your mornings are rough, I know how hard that is and I hope it gets better soon.
