we're planning a trip to go to disney one last time before baby #2 arrives ![]()
however...the best time to go would be in september (to stay away from the heat and the crowds would actually be less b/c school starts in august) but i'll be 6.5 months pg.
being pg and doing disney doesnt bother me....its being pg and going with a 2.5 yr old that freaks me out.
doable? yay or nay?
we can go during the summer when i'll be "less" pg but the heat alone would probably kill me...not to mention we would have to book for weekdays to stay away from the crowds on wknds.
Re: doing disney pg...
DO NOT go there during the summer! I was just there and it was super hot.
I think its totally doable to go with a toddler while pregnant. I was just there and it wasn't bad at all. I made sure to stay hydrated and we also made sure DS napped while we were in the parks (you can go to the baby centers or restaurants so your DD can nap with an AC on). The only annoying part was having to go to the bathroom every second! LOL
I definitely got tired a lot more easily and DH did too (because he didn't want me to carry any bags, backpacks, etc since I'm pregnant) but It was worth it. Go for it but make sure you go there in September! LOL
I think its doable as long as you don't push yourself. Listen to your body and when you need a rest, rest. Just a warning, though, September is still pretty hot in Orlando so definitely keep hydrated.
The good thing about going with a toddler is that they need rest, too! So this way you force each other to take naps/breaks/etc...
I was also going to mention that September is still pretty hot or sometimes hotter than than July and August. I don't think it will make a big difference. However, going earlier may make a difference as far as your energy levels and stamina.
Whatever you decide... have fun!
what resort was this? we were looking at hotels last night and we couldnt decide. last time we stayed at the omni resort in championsgate which was awesome but a washer/dryer won me over. besides we will be staying 4 days this time around so breakfast in our rooms sounds like a great way to save $
Yes, Sept can be quite hot, but completely doable (not from personal exprience but women do go to Disney pg). SIL did a couple of yrs ago for niece's 3rd bday, and she was fine. One the last day, I think she ended up renting a wheelchair, just for sanity, so that is always an option.
Also, towards the end of Sept, the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween event begins, which is at night! With limited tickets and no sun, you beat both crowds and heat. Plus, I saw a billboard for another night event this summer (thru Sept), so something else to look into.
I stayed at the Lake Buena Vista Resort and Spa (near Magic Kingdom) and was very impressed! Full apartment, with kitchen and washer/dryer. Plus, the pool was awesome for kids! There is a pizzaria and Irish restaurant/bar on premises too, which makes exhausted days easy for dinner. : )
