I popped in from PgAL over the weekend to ask about depression during pregnancy vs. PPD.

Well I went to my appointment this morning and my OB suggested that I go back on Prozac at 20mg per day. I have done some research and there is very little information on the effects of antidepressants taken during pregnancy and I can't even begin to explain how scared I am. She reassured me she would closely monitor me and the baby and that Prozac (and Zoloft) were the safest there are right now.
I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this or knew of any other resources I could use to find more information about it.
Thanks!
Re: f/u to depression during pg -- talked to my OB -- need more advice.
I am actually on 200 mg of Zoloft a day. I have been taking it since I was about 19 weeks pregnant. I started at 50 mg and built up to that dose. It is dangerous to have untreated depression while pregnant.
A psychiatrist wrote a book called Pregnant on Prozac about her own experience.
And someone else posted this site a while back and I called and they were very helpful. https://www.otispregnancy.org/
Good Luck!
