Hi Ladies...intro

Hi Ladies Just wanted to say Hi and introduce myself.

Was dx w/ PCOS in Nov 09 and we started ttc March with the help of Clomid.  No luck so far...

 What doctors can you recommend?

Re: Hi Ladies...intro

  • Hi!

I also have PCOS, and am under the treatment of the RE's at University Women's Care in Southfield. I'm doing a research study there so it's worth the 45min drive for my appointments every 2-3 weeks.

I would recommend that you see an RE instead of an OB, since their specialty is getting you pregnant! What area do you live in?

    GOOD LUCK!

I got pregnant with dd on my 4th cycle of clomid... I worked with Dr. John Randolph at the Center for Reproductive Medicine in Ann Arbor (in the same area as the Briarwood Mall), but got pregnant before starting treatment with him. I will definitely be going back to him when we're ready for #2. My friend used him as well and after many pregnancy losses, she now has beautiful little boys. Both of us loved him, and also loved the rest of the staff (nurses, secretaries, etc). They were amazing and had me come in for bloodwork and an u/s even though I didn't use them for treatment.

  • I very strongly recommend making an appointment with a Reproductive Endocrinologist.

Are you taking any medicine for your PCOS - Metformin/glucophage/avandia?  An RE can prescribe these meds.

An RE will ensure you are being monitored via ultrasound and blood work to ensure the clomid is working.  I have PCOS and clomid did not work for me. I had to move to injectible drugs.

Also, you don't want to do too many cycles with clomid as it thins your lining.

Have you had your thyroid checked?  An target range for your TSH is between 1-2 for pregnancy.

There is also a local infertility support group that meets monthly at Royal Oak Beaumont.  https://www.resolve.org/support-and-services/support-group/michigan-support-groups.html

There are also sub-boards on The Bump for infertility and support/information boards for PCOS that would be helpful.

    Good luck.
