OMG I finally got to the season finale yesterday, and even DH was watching w/ me! I was warned by all the FB messages that it was insane, and it sure was.
But so glad Derrick survived. I was in tears w/ Mer's m/c... brought back too many memories.
I thought it was the BEST EPISODE EVER! Thoughts?
Re: NBR - Grey's Watchers (spoilers)
A few people did. The husband of a patient that died went back to the hospital to get revenge. I believe she had brain surgery b/c Derrick was her surgeon. The husband went back looking for Derrick, ex-chief (forgot name), and Lexi since they were all caring for the wife. But along the way, he was killing different people as his rage increased! He just shot random people!
Now I can't remember, but most of those that died were from the "new cast" (those that came over from Mercy). Derrick, Alex, Collin were all shot, but they are going to be fine. At the beginning of the show, Mer found out she was pg, but hadn't told Derrick yet. She never did b/c I guess due to the emotion of Derrick's surgery and later being held at gunpoint, she latter m/cs while helping Collin.
Very intense episode, from the first minute!

That does sound intense! My cousins are nurses and they were talking about the show - one hadn't seen it yet. So, they wouldn't give me details. But, they just kept saying how they would NEVER work for THAT hospital, lol.

It was so intense my stomach was in knots, my heart was racing nonstop, and the baby was very active! I thought it was a great episode, which was refreshing because I've been disappointed this season and feeling like the episodes weren't memorable or even important to watch.
I'm not complaining at all, but I'm surprised they didn't leave a big cliffhanger with Derek's condition. I thought for sure they'd leave it extremely vague like they did with the previous season finale.
It was an INTENSE episode. It nerve wracking the whole way through. I did really enjoy watching it and I didn't think it was over done.
But I kind of was a little irritated if they were implying that the emotional trauma caused Meredith's miscarriage. It feeds into the myth that pregnant women DO something to cause a miscarriage when it is most commonly a result of a genetic defect. Research shows that the baby is protected from the effects of cortisol during the first trimester.
