I use the glider for the night feedings (thankfully down to only one of those now Knock on wood!)
That being said...if I had had room for a recliner yeah I would have went with that...there have been nights when I had to sit in her nursery rocking her to console her and a recliner would have been more comfy. Just no room for one in her nursery But I say if you have a recliner you can put in his room go for it!
No, not at all. BUT, I will say that there was absolutely NO room in DD's room to put one. We put it in our living room, so that makes a big difference. I probably would have used it much more if it was in her room.
(BTW, we have a glider with ottoman.)
Allie ~ 01/26/09 ~ 7 lbs, 9 oz ~ 20.75 in.
& Amelia ~ 03/16/11 ~ 8 lbs, 1 oz ~ 21 in.
ALL OF THE TIME. STILL. We have a Best Chairs - Storytime Series glider and ottoman. I love it because the ottoman glides too, so you can pretty much put your feet up, put your head back and it's *almost* like being reclined and you can STILL ROCK. Whereas a recliner - you're stuck sitting up if you want/need to rock.
the one we have looks like a living room chair - so when we're done with it we can easily transition it into our living space and it won't scream "I'm a baby item!!!"
My sister has a glider & we were going to paint it black & have it reupholstered. I wanted to make sure I would use it before I went through all the trouble. Thanks ladies!

We have a glider in the nursery and use it a lot. Especially now that the rule is no leaving the nursery during night wakings unless absolutely necessary. So if he wakes up and needs to be rocked a bit then in the chair I (or DH) go. And I know I'll be using it when I start reading to him as well.
I always get confused as to which one we have, but it's an upholstered one by Dutailier (below w/rocking ottoman) and I LOVE IT! I use it at least once a day (nighttime) if not 2 or 3 times a day & Mason is 15.5 mos. When his room transitions to big-boy, I'll move it to the sunroom. It's definitely a keeper & worth the investment!
ALL THE TIME! After 2 years, we still use it a ton. One of the best purchases I made. Caleb was one year old before he slept through the night and 2 years old before he did so consistently. Not the norm, but it happened to us. So, Jim and I have both spent endless hours in that thing. I am so glad we invested in a good one (Best Chair) b/c it is comfy and we have both slept in it countless times with him in our arms. I'll probably even get another one for this baby b/c we still use Caleb's with him. My recommendation...it needs to have a high enough back for your husband to be comfy in it too. When he needs to rest his head back and if you fall asleep in it, it needs to be high so that you won't get a crick in your neck!

Awww thanks Monica! I REALLY REALLY REALLY enjoy interior decorating...just won't yet pay for the bills I'd be more than happy to forward my nursery inspiration photos though when you find out the gender! I collected "oodles" back when I was planning M's nursery.

Girl, if it paid the bills...you have no idea! It's tough because I have my own "style" but I'm not sure if that's transferable to other people's style/taste in decor. Lydia has graciously let me throw some ideas while she's updating her GBR, but unfortunately I haven't had much time to really source items or find inspiration BR photos. You know I'm in a new adventurous "season"...hopefully I'll have some answers soon and then life can resume to where I can do interior decorating as a hobby again! *sigh*

We usse our rocker/glider every night when we read DD her books. When she was younger we used it when she got up at night.
We have a dutailer glider/ottoman that was handed down to us from family. We just repainted it and had it reupholstered. Love it!
