Any other Lost fans out there? (spoilers)

I am SO disappointed by last night's finale, it didn't answer anything, and felt like such a cop out! There are still so many questions in my head, I want to sit down with the producers and grill them.

What was Widmore doing? What did the numbers mean? Were they all dead the whole time or just at the end? What was the meaning of the light? What about all the Losties that weren't at the church couples mixer? Michael and Walt, for instance? And about a million more questions. Gah! It's really annoying.

PS-did anyone else think it was lame that Sayid's whole life was about Nadia and then in the end it was like Shannon was his true love? Doubtful!

Re: Any other Lost fans out there? (spoilers)

  • I was a fan a few years ago, but it got so complicated and I didn't get to see it consistently so I was confused after missing a few episodes.

Did they make it really final or do you think they'll be another season?  I know they said this is it, but did they leave the possibility open that there might be another season?

Bummer that you didn't get your questions answered!  That's annoying!

  • I was so disappointed too! Come on!!!!!!! Give us something!
  • ITA, it was a waste of 6 years. It was a sweet ending but more disappointing than anything.

Didn't Michael show up a few weeks ago and Hurley ran into him? I think Hurley asked him if he was alive and Michael said "No I'm dead", and that was the wishpering voices they all kept hearing on the island.

You know a few years back someone wrote into tv guide or something and said They're all in purgatory and dead. The writer were like nope, that's no it. LIE!

And on Sayid I have no clue what was up with that. Was there any closer about Nadia?

  • I believe that Widmore was just one of the people that randomly got to the island somehow, like how Richard's boat was shipwrecked, etc.  I think a lot of these "randoms" banded together and formed the "Others".  I believe Widmore was kicked off the island by Ben Linus.

I don't think they were dead the whole time.  I believe that everything that happened on the Island was real.  The part where they were actually dead was the flash forward where they didn't think the plane crashed and they basically went there to find each other so that they could remember everything before passing on (they all died at different times, some on the island, some off the island, etc).

I am pretty sure Walt got off the island and was probably still alive at the point when they were all at the church(remember, he was living in NYC with his grandma).  I think that Michael couldn't pass on because he had killed Anna Lucia and Libby so that is why he wasn't there.

Yeah I did think about Nadia but who knows, Sayid and Shannon seemed pretty happy :)

That's what I thought too, but that only answers a small fraction of the questions that the show posed over 6 years. It doesn't explain anything about the island, what it meant, what the light was, all the time travel stuff with Farady and the Dharma initiative, the Others, the numbers...if that's it, why did they "have" to go back? Why the time travel? Why bother with Jacob and the man in black? What was the point of their existence if it was just a story about some people who crashed on a plane and then reunited after they died?

They left A LOT of questions completely unanswered, and not in a nice, interpret it for yourselves type of way, but more in a we painted ourselves into a corner and don't know how to explain half the stuff we made up kind of way. Very unsatisfying, IMO.

I was unimpressed.  I thought the ending was kind of a copout and everything having to do with "the light" was pretty lame.
