Best Maternity Bra. EVER.

Just wanted to offer my advice to all of you ladies realizing that your cups now ridiculously runneth over.....try the Bravado line of maternity/nursing bras.  PLEASE.  Holy balls, I just can't say enough about this brand.  I bought it this morning and immediately put it on in the bathroom.  I am currently in heaven.  I was totally clueless and my girlfriend turned me on to them.  I love love love the Original Nursing Bra, which comes in S/M/L.  Just check the website and go over the sizing instructions.  A little confusing at first, but they are spot on.  I also bought the Essential Nursing Bra Tank, which is fabulous because it has an attached tank to help hide/smooth out the "not quite looking pregnant yet" belly.  They have tons of other great styles and I was so impressed that my bra does not look like a grandma bra....it's cute and cottony and stylish.  The nursing flap is discrete too and the snaps are disguised as be-jeweled little buttons.  They carry them at Target online (free shipping on orders over $50) and at most hospital gift shops.  I think you might be able to find them at higher-end maternity stores too, like Pea in the Pod or Mimi Maternity.  They are NOT priced as such though, so don't worry!  Yeah for comfortable boobies!

  • I am going to have to check those out.  My bras are not comfy right now and by the end of the day I am braless...not pretty with DD's.

  • ooh, great rec.  I will definately check those out.  I am so uncomfortable in my bras--the ones I bought after my boobs grew a cup and a half and now I've outgrown them again.  H squeezed yesterday and said, "Baby is going to get a nice milk buffet!"

  • AH HA!  Yeah, seriously I have been hanging on to my Vickie's Secret bras forever but now at the end of the day, I have huge red lines under my boobs and the moment I step foot in the door the bra is off.  Plus, all those cute non-maternity bras are made of such unbreathable fabric (although cute as it is) and I get the major itchies by 3 PM.  I was on my last hook too and I just couldn't take it.  I think I just delayed the inevitable because I didn't want to wear a hideous old-lady bra.
  • They are also available on diapers.com and go on sale quite a bit.

Expressiva.com also has them with free shipping a lot.

  • honestly buying 'maternity' bras or nursing bras is a total waste of money while being pregnant. your boobs are going to change and grow even bigger when baby comes- and those bras will not fit. and you will have to go out and buy new ones. You don't need 'access' to your boobs right now so nursing bras are pointless during pregnancy.

just go get fitted at a department store and buy the right size bra.

  • Interesting you say that; the perk with these bras is that they are made of a very stretchy and breathable fabric that stretches 1 to 2 cup sizes.  Hence, they are perfect for when your breasts change and are actually very appropriate to a pregnant woman's wardrobe.  Additionally, they offer support and modest coverage and not "hooterville" shenanigans that you find with your usual non-maternity bras.  I like to detract attention from my chest currently.  You would pay the same, if not more, at a department store for a bra that is uncomfortable and the thought of trying to continue to cram my breasts into underwire and satin hell is not appealing.  These bras are created by a medical community and I personally would rather have comfort and pay a little for it than try to keep squeezing myself into some mainstream bra fitted by a department store clerk that has no clue what they are doing.  And very true that I don't need "access" to my breasts currently, but they will certainly be ready to go when I do!

I am a lactation consultant and been through it all- already- your boobs WILL GROW and a bra you buy now won't be comfortable. From beginning of pregancy to weaning my DD- I grew four cup sizes. Just telling you. You are 13 weeks pregnant- don't waste your money on a ton of bras that  you are going to have to buy and rebuy.

  • Thank you for the honest advice.  BUT.  I went ahead and bought 4 bras and have never been happier!  Agree to disagree!  :)  P.S.  I am in the medical field myself and am well-versed in the anatomy of growing and changing breasts.
  • I agree with the other poster, I wouldn't stock up on too many more though....I love them, but you may very well go up more than 1-2 cup sizes between now and nursing.  They are great though and hold up well.
