Homemade baby food tips & tricks ??

Do you have any to share?

I just bought some silicon muffin trays to fill instead of ice cube trays.  Not only is it easier to get the food out after it's frozen (I always had to run the ice cube trays under warm water to loosen the food, then it would get all mushy on the edges and stick together in the ziploc baggies).  But they also make bigger servings - the muffin trays I bought are 2.5oz, which is the same size as the Gerber 1st foods containers.

  • I usually don't have any trouble getting the food out of the icecube trays... if I do, I just slide a knife down the side and pop!

What kind of tricks or tips are you looking for in particular?

  • what a great idea to use bigger muffin trays.  I never thought of that.  I don't have any tricks to share myself, (but I'd recommend an immersion blender if you don't already use that)....I guess I'll just steal your great ideas lol

I just use the smallest size of Ziploc plastic reuseable containers.  They are freezer safe and can hold 4 oz or 8 oz of food- for either stage 1 or stage 2 eaters.  I have a Beaba and LOVE it.  I'm still doing one-food purees and follow recipes from the Beaba cookbook.  My yams are the best so far... if I have extra when she's done with a serving, I eat them.  Embarrassed
