Anybody dealing with low progresterone? The dr just called to say my progesterone level was 13 (and it should be in the high teens/low twenties). Now I have to take supplements twice a day for the first trimester. Really scared! Anybody have insight or experience with this?
Re: low progesterone?
I had it with dd, and took prometrium and am also taking prometrium again with this pregnancy. All was well with dd, so I am hopeful that all will be well this time around too.
It's scary to hear something is not in line, but lots of women take progesterone supplements to help the levels rise and have healthy pregnancies. Did they schedule an u/s?
Thanks for your thoughts! It's reassuring to hear that other people are going through the same thing and have such a positive attitude.
They did not schedule an u/s. I do, however, have another beta and progesterone blood test scheduled for next week Monday.
How long do you have to take the progesterone or prometrium?
My progesterone was also low, it had actually dropped at my 3rd beta. I know it's hard to worry, I still worry all the time, but you are definitely not alone! Progesterone works for lots of women and lots of babies.
I took it through week 13 with dd, and they said probably about the same this time. With dd, they scared me bc they had me come right back in for an u/s. This time, they are waiting to do one next Thursday when I will be 7 weeks. At least with the next blood draw, you will know that it's doing what it's supposed to be doing!
I've heard so many success stories with women using progesterone.
I didn't use it with DD but I am using it this pregnancy. My progesterone was fine but I asked to be on it since I'm on Heparin (blood thinner) and I came up with a fear that I could bleed more and possibly have another loss. My RE is awesome and humored me and said using progesterone won't hurt anything so I'm now on Endometirn.
Oh thank you! Thank goodness you've heard so many success stories. I wish you luck with your LO, too!
I am on prometrium 2 times a day taken vaginally and it has raised my progesterone up. I had a m/c already so this helps it to "stick" plus my age is a factor.
