Do you use a special detergent for washing baby stuff? I'm talking clothes etc, not cloth diapers (since you have to use a special kind for those anyway, right?).
We don't; we do wash their stuff separately to ours but use the same detergent - we figured that if they had fragrance sensitive skin or allergy issues or something we'd change, but no point in complicating things if they didn't.

We use ECOS free and clear for her clothing mainly because I bought a big ol' jug of it intending to use it on our CDs and then read that it's not great for them (although one site I found said it'd be okay).
So once we use that up we'll just wash her stuff in the same detergent we use...All Free and Clear. For dipes we use 7th Generation Gentle Detergent.
We wash her clothes separate from ours but that's mainly because she has a full load on her own usually. Plus it makes it easier not to lose baby socks if they're with other small clothing items!

I think that is heavily disputed. Dreft has an obvious scent to me and I have seen a couple of blog/article posts about how someone uncovered a perfume in it even though it's not on the ingredients list.
Also many of the baby detergents say something about no detergent residue which should mean they don't have softeners, brightners, or enzymes added - but then if you read up on it they usually do.
I got some method baby detergent at one of my showers and it smells very nice, I use it every so often on the baby load and our sheets and Jack hasn't had a reaction to it, but once it runs out I won't re-buy just because I prefer the types I use on our regular clothes (planet and biokleen - biokleen has an essential oil scent but it's very light).
I wash clothes as needed and have done adult/baby stuff together but usually he has enough clothes/blankets/towels for his own load by the end of the week.
This is so odd, my friends baby has a BAD case of eczema and she had to take him to a derm. THe derm Dr told her to ONLY wash her stuff in All free and clear or Purex Free and Clear and NOTHING else. She was using Dreft initially and the derm said that TONS of babies have reactions to it because of the chemicals and perfumes...
As for us, we've always used Purex Free and clear. We use it for her clothes, our clothes and it's CD safe.
That IS strange. Sometimes I do question things our pedi. says, but luckily, she hasn't had a bad reaction to the Dreft... so we will probably continue using that.
