When did you feel baby?

Last night, I felt something (just as everyone has described to me) just below my belly button, on one side.  I thought it was indegestion, and didn't think too much of it.  Then, this AM I felt the same thing, but on the other side, again, thought it was the indegestion.  But at the doctor's appt, I felt it a 3rd time, and now am wondering if that was baby.  I personally think it is too early, but you never know.

It sorta felt like a little caterpiller walking across belly (but only like an inch).

When did you feel something?  Am I nuts / imagining things?

Re: When did you feel baby?

  • I felt what I thought were gas pains for a few weeks right around where you are now.  It wasn't until about 15/16 weeks that I could tell I wasn't just gassy and it was the baby.

Geez - I have such baby fever today.  I'm teaching sex ed and today is a National Geographic movie on pregnancy and I'm having withdrawals.

  • I didn't feel anything until at least 17 weeks, and it was just like gas bubbles then. I didn't feel kicks and rolling until closer to 23 weeks.

This pretty much for me too.

  • I can hardly remember with Sophie but with this pregnancy I started feeling flutters around 15-16 weeks? Definitely by my big u/s because I remember seeing her move on the screen and being able to feel it simulataneously.

Kicks that could be felt from the outside at 19 weeks.

At 21 weeks we could SEE the kicks and movements from the outside and Abel/Sophie feel her very regularly.

She is a very active baby. Yesterday at work, I was sitting at my desk and kind of leaned over reading something and my boob bounced. Seriously. The baby moved so hard she moved my boob (I am chesty). Sophie did not do that until MUCH later in my pregnancy. I am carrying this one just as high as I did her.

  • I just started feeling a little bit of something last week, in the middle of my 16th week. It was just once, and then I didn't feel anything until earlier this week. Now I've been feeling something every day for the last three days in the afternoons.

What it feels like for me is one of these three categories: a small muscle twitch in one teeny spot that happens every minute or so at a time, fluttering like a fish or butterfly in there, and like bubbles popping (the bubbles popping is what I've felt these past three days and often for a couple hours at a time).

  • I was 100% sure I felt baby at 19 wks.  :)

Felt like she was in there poking me in the uterus saying "hello?  anyone out there?"  lol

  • I felt her move around 14 weeks. I wasn't sure that is what I was feeling until I felt it more often. It may be your little ones. :)

With both pregnancies, I felt flutters at around 14 weeks, mini kicks at around 16 weeks, and could see from outside at around 18 weeks.

    This :)

I think at 12.5 weeks your uterus is still too low to feel them by your belly button. I don't think it shifts upwards till a couple of weeks in to 2nd tri. I don't know if it's the same for twins, meaning your ute moves up sooner but I that it's true for a singleton pregnancy.

  • 17-18 weeks for sure I felt something. Before that it was just little flutters and I wasn't sure if it was gas or baby.

  • i felt sarah flutters at 14 weeks.

but you're carrying twins... i've heard you feel things and experience things sooner than those of us who only carried one!!

  • It's possible, but I don't think what you are feeling is baby movements because the very early movements are down very low, like behind the pubic bone.  BUT, you are having twins,so maybe your uterus is stretched enough to feel them up higher, by the belly button????

I felt movement with both of mine at 18 weeks.

  • I started feeling fluttering around 15 weeks. It got stronger with each subsequent week. I love that feeling :)
  • IDK - I thought I felt flutters around 12-13 weeks and then again more recently.  But, each time, it's felt different so I can't tell what it is.  The one thing that makes me think it's baby movement is that it's always on the same side.  However, I recently read that if you have an anterior placenta (which I do) then you will not be able to feel the earlier movements.  So, we'll see...
