Just have to share all of the good happenings that are finally happening!
DH and I have been working on short-selling a condo for several months and everything has gone through, it is closing June 16th! We were very afraid to make that move but the condo was purchased for $116K in 2005 and was valued (after the crash) at only $35K. So happy we decided to do it - Though our credit will be impacted for a bit and we cannot re-buy for 24 months, think it was definitely the best option for our situation!
Because of the condo, we are having to rent (for 24 months, at least, past the closing date). We have been living in what we thought was just an older (moderate rent) place since November and have had SO many problems here. Heater's broken down several times, major leaks in the house, mold, etc. A couple of months ago, a really, really loud (and thuggish) group of people moved in next door and they wake us up at all hours with loud music, yelling, slamming doors, etc.
We've talked to the landlord multiple times but he wants us to "handle it," and therefore, won't do anything. We did talk with them a couple of times but they literally don't care. So, because our lease says that hte landlord must provide us with "Quiet Enjoyment" of the premises, we are leaving. We'd much rather be met in small claims court, with our documentation of everything, than stay here any longer.
So! We are moving - We're giving our notice June 1ST but we also got June rent free at the new place so I plan on getting us packed as quickly as I can and moving as close to the first of June as possible!
I am SO excited. Where we live now is two-story and since DH's accident, we don't use the upstairs. At all. Our clothes are in the pantry, we are all sharing Jackson's room... it's been a mad-house around here but we've adjusted. It is going to feel like moving into a freaking PALACE when we move. Granted, it's still apartment living but the complex is a brand new (built last year) complex with 2 1/2 times industry-standard sound-proofing insullation and lots of great amenities and a beautiful design.
Also, it's about a 2 minute drive and 10 minute walk from DH's office.
Here are some pictures just to really AW:

It's definitely no house but in the meantime until we can buy, I think we're going to be really happy.
Just had to share out happy (for once!!!) news!
Re: AW: Very Excited...
Seriously, he's a fatty fatty 2 by 4.
I had him at the pedi last week and he's already 15 lbs. Tall, tho. He was 24" at his 2 Month Appt. Can't wait to find out how tall at his 4 month!
How are the girls doing?! Need new pics!
