Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Hi and a Sick Baby Question

Hi, I'm moving over here from 0-3 months a few days early.  I also have a question for you ladies (I figure you guys might have a little more experience with growth spurts vs. sick babies)...

DS has been running a low grade fever today.  He is also very congested, fussy, clingy, has some green snot, and has been cluster feeding all day today.  At first I thought he was sick, but then I realized it's also time for a growth spurt.  The growth spurt would explain the fussiness, clingy-ness, and cluster feeding, but would he have the low grade fever ?  Could the congestion be unrelated to the other symptoms (i.e. allergies)?   Thanks in advance!

  • Their bodies work extra hard during a growth spurt, so I could see that. The only thing that doesn't fit is the snot. He might have a bug or something.

  • DD never had fever or green boogies when going through a growth spurt....cluster feeding may be do to dehydration, or soothing.

i would get him to the pedi in the am.

That's what I think too, but several people on my Facebook suggested a growth spurt due to the cluster feeding.

I has a sore throat and sinus stuff this week but thought it was allergies (which have been horrible this year here in TX).  Now I think maybe I had a bug that DS got.

  • I agree that the cluster feeding could be due to dehydration. When my LO had a cold she fed all through the night.

Definitely get your pedi to check LO out.
