Ban on drop-side cribs

I didn't see this article posted today.  Apparently, an all out ban on drop-side cribs is in the works, to be effective at the end of the year.

Re: Ban on drop-side cribs

  • Interesting.  I never even considered one because I 1) wanted a convertible crib and 2) and don't trust any moving parts near a baby.

ditto. and this sure made me think twice about letting Warner sleep in the hand-me-down 10 year old, drop-side crib at my mom's house!!

  • I never considered one either.  The concept seems inherently dangerous.
  • when we were shopping for cribs, one of the sales people at Baby2Teen told us that they have been banned (or about to be) in Europe and we never considered one.
